Earliest memory

One of my earliest memories i have was on the bus in first grade. My best friend mellisa and I always sat next to eachother. And every single day Kendra would come over to sit with us. We would get so annoyed that she sat with us, so we would crawl under the seats until she sat down. Then we would get up and sit in a different seat. And for some reason, if she ever sat with us we would lick her arm and she would get upset and run away. Then one day she called Melissa crying about how mean we were to her.

Back then Melissa and I were inseperable and i could not stand Kendra. Then Melissa and I begin to grow apart and now Kendra is my best friend. We fight, but i don't hide from her anymore, nor do i lick her arm. And i know we won't grow apart.

Metamorphasis: imagery

I think that imagery is definately the main literary element. I think the author used this literary element so heavily because, it is about a man who one day just wakes up as a cockroach. Because of the changes in his body, his whole life style changes, which is what the book is about. So the author needs to describe with lots of imagery how he looks now, as a cockroach, to help the reader understand. In the book he loses some of his abilities to do things that he could as a human. Like he can't use his surroundings in the same way because he has no fingers and he has to crawl so the surroundings are also described with imagery.

The author describes the differences from before with a lot of imagery because he wants to show why the family isn't as excepting of there son. He looks so different that the dad can't believe it is really his son. And everyone is completely shocked to see this change in Greggor.
